Intellectual History, by Donald Heydu, El Camino JC, undergrad Loyola University, Masters UCLA
These are the class notes from an Intellectual History class taught by Donald Heydu, a visiting professor to Loyola from El Camino Community College in Los Angeles. The class took place on Loyola University campus in Westchester section of LA. I was an English Lit undergraduate in my last semester when I “lucked out” and fortunately attended this class.
In setting up my Lessons Plans on Shopify, Google and Facebook, I ran across this gifted, young professor’s class and couldn’t wait until I could work on it.. It was first semester of 1971, my last as an undergrad. I would continue in the Spring to get a California Teaching License and my master’s degree in Communication Arts.
This was a foundational experience for a budding young teacher. I retired from teaching in 2020 after 48 years in LA Unified, Jefferson County, CO and Denver Public Schools. I hope you enjoy my notes. I have discovered the insights, anew with the memory of sharing my education with the many students I love.

Thanks Professor Heydu…
